Volunteers are needed to help us with school attendance! Students are often late to class or cut class, and we need extra help in making sure students make it to class on time.
We are looking for attendance mentors in our Washington Heights locations.

Alianza Youth Services is a nonprofit division of Catholic Charities. Our goals are to strengthen academic achievement, health, fitness, and artistic expression in young people by promoting employment, college readiness, college entry, civic engagement and community services.
Alianza programs are located throughout Manhattan and the Bronx. We serve more than 26,500 young people.
Our programs are divided into two different categories: After School Programs/Elementary Middle School Programs and School Base High School Programs. The programs offer academic support, tutoring, homework help, literacy instruction using music, the arts and theater, science technology, engineering and math activities. The main goal of our programs is to secure a better living for the future of our participants and to promote healthy living. Among the After Schools we have 2 Beacon Programs, 4 Cornerstones Programs.
At the high school level we have 4 Dropout Prevention Program 2 Community Schools and 1 Adult Education Program ESL; these programs are design and promote and or re-entry to school.  We assist students with academic support and we help students to develop a post graduation plan that may include college or employment. We also have youth employment programs that prepare young people from 14 – 24 years for employment by offering internship, career and college readiness workshops on the job experience and employment. These programs are better known as SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program), WLG (Work, Learn Grow) and ISY (In School Youth).
Alianza also has a Cultural Center, this is a multi-disciplinary art center in Washington Heights that showcases contemporary and classical Dominican and Latin American Art, dance and music.
